Veil Obedience School
Product Description
How to be a Material Girl (DVD/NTSC). Is your veil getting the best of you? Hey, it's only a piece of cloth. It's time your veil learned who the boss is!Princess Farhana will demonstrate technique for lovely veil entrances, exits, beatiful framing and drapes, pretty spins and some cool "old school" veil wraps, as well as how to use a veil and finger cymbals at the same time.
Also included: tips on veil care, a variety of different types of veils and their uses, plus two dramatically different costumed performances by Princess Farhana. Running time 62 minutes.
BellyDanceStore.net: I have to know, were all the veils in the Variety of Veils section yours?
Farhana: Yes, they're all mine! The amount of costumes I have is kind of embarassing!
BellyDanceStore.net: What is your favorite veil wrap?
Farhana: I like them all, but I love the old-school wraps that make the dancer look like a Grecian statue. I dance Egyptian style, but American audiences love to see veil work, so I include it in my shows a lot more than I would if I was working in Egypt!
BellyDanceStore.net: What do you think is the most important element of veil work?
Farhana: Flow! The veil should be swirling around you like beautiful, colored smoke, not hanging dead and limp in your hands, and not distracting from your movements! The dance shouldn't be about the veil, it should be about the veil framing you!
