Bellydance or belly dancing is very old, it is native to Egypt where it takes a very important place in festivals and celebrations; to the point where the caterer of the celebration of the wedding is often obliged to call on a belly dancer to complete his work.
The oriental dance interprets many sensations that can be totally opposed: joy and hatred, amusement and disgust, strength and weakness … so many faces to reflect, because it simply represents the mystery.
With graceful gestures, ornaments of different colors and harmonious melodies, the dancer tries to say so much to the audience. The Middle East, especially Egypt, as well as the Maghreb have known belly dancers of great renown, such as Amani.
Nowadays, the Western people are starting to appreciate oriental dance because of their contact with the Arabs. Westerners currently teach it in different countries: France, Spain, Italy … The French knew the oriental dance during the campaign of Bonaparte in Egypt.
However, at the level of the Muslim world, this dance remains the target of many critics. Indeed, often loved ones do not want to see wife, mother, or loved to show off in front of spectators with a light suit; but above all Islam forbids Muslim women to make a living thus, because in the Islamic religion the woman must remain preserved.
